Whispers Of WrightBexley couple enjoys the influences of their home's past ownersOne hundred years ago, two small neighborhoods, the prestigious Bullitt Park and Pleasant Ridge, a community centered around Christ Lutheran Church, agreed to merge. A resident suggested the new town be named after his English birthplace, and so the Village of Bexley was born. ❙ Now a city of over 13,000 residents, Bexley is a tree-lined suburb of Columbus. As part of the city’s centennial celebration the Bexley Women’s Club is sponsoring a House and Garden Tour. One stop on the tour will be the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired home of Denson and Ana Parker. Both Parkers are artists. He is a sculptor and she an interior designer, owner of Ana Designs. Their home is a testament to their talents. ❙ The residence was designed in 1958 and completed in 1961 by Milton and Dorothy Staub. The Parkers have lived in the home for the past ten years. The 3,880-square-foot house sets on three-quarters of an acre featuring 26 varieties of trees and shrubs, 48 species of plants, and a collection of garden art that gives the property a park-like setting.
